Rivers are raging, hillsides are sliding, and the snowpack is soaring as storms bring high winds and heavy surf every 18 to 36 hours. Since the weekend before Christmas, it has rained every day except one in most of Western Oregon and Southwest Washington.
It's been so bad that Gov. Ted Kulongoski last week declared disasters in 24 of 36 Oregon counties."
