Gov. Ted Kulongoski has ordered emergency action to help thousands of low-income Oregonians get past the latest hitch in the two-week-old Medicare prescription drug plan.
Oregon joins at least a dozen other states, including California and Pennsylvania, that have stepped in to plug gaps in the new federal drug benefit. The drug plan, called Medicare Part D, began on Jan. 1."
