BRINGING BACK MEMORIES............

Nine Longview Hills Residents made the trip over to Lincoln City Friday night to the Chinook Winds Casino to attend the concert of Frankie Valli. He had 14 members on stage with him and they put out songs that did bring back memories to us young folks. We even had dinner before the show, great fellowship with friends on the hill.

The Note on the Door @ the Clubhouse...

A strange man in his shorts in the house while you sleep? Good Golly Miss Molly!!

I just was flabbergasted that this happened here. The only advice I can give is lock your doors. Single ladies, you might keep your spare car door opener remote by your bed. You can hit the emergency button on it and it will set off your car's horn alarm with a continuous honk, honk, honk.

Block Captians and residents alike should treat such an alarm as a call for help instead of the tendency to think someone has hit the wrong button on the opener. Block Captians you might visit your folks and show them how to do this especially the ones who don't have computers or are single living alone. (Standby for a rash of honking horns)

By treating a honking horn as an emergency signal we will get a few false alarms just as with the red lights but we will gain a fine alert system that can't be missed. As of now I will treat a repetitive honking horn at LVH as a call for help won't you join me?

When the first snow falls on the North Shore of Chicago this winter, Robert Gordon will take his Toro snow blower out of the garage and think about how lucky he is not to be using a shovel. Mr. Gordon is 66 years old and evidently quite healthy, but his doctor has told him that he should never clear his driveway with his own hands. People can die from shoveling snow, Mr. Gordon said. I bet a lot of lives have been saved by snow blowers.

TIME.com: How Ready-to-Eat Spinach Is Only Part of the E. Coli Problem -- Page 2: "In this outbreak, the first call came into the CDC on Wednesday afternoon. An epidemiologist at the state health department in Wisconsin had been investigating almost 20 reports of E. coli poisoning in a matter of days, and after some initial labwork and extensive interviews with the victims, all of whom had reported bloody diarrhea, the scientists there suspected that bagged spinach might be the culprit, and called Atlanta."
