Oregon Coast Restaurant Reviews: The Shouldn't, the Bad and the Ugly

Oregon Coast Restaurant Reviews: The Shouldn't, the Bad and the Ugly: "90 percent of the time, BeachConnection.net's restaurant reviews are largely positive. There's plenty of so-so restaurants out there that sort of fall under the category of either just not interesting enough to review or write about, and with a touch of 'if we can’t say anything nice we won’t way anything at all.' See more Oregon Coast Restaurant reviews....

Luckily, there aren't too many seriously awful ones we've come across either - not yet. But there are three that stand out: so vile and wrong in one way or another they definitely deserve a literary pounding."

This seems like something for us all to remember . . .

How to Dance in the Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.
I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.
As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought,

'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message. This is one of those.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.
I hope you share this with someone you care about. I just did.
'Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain.'

"I have noticed that the people who are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them."

New VCR/DVD

Folks the new VCR/DVD is working at the clubhouse. However, it does not work exactly like the one you may have in your home. There are some differences. We have composed step by step instructions and hope to have them available near the TV Friday...

However, if you would like your own personal copy you may copy it from the below link:

NEW! combo DVD/VCR

Yesterday was a very big surprise for everyone... Let me tell you about it... I was over at the clubhouse and talking to the ladies playing Canasta... Told them we really have a need for a new DVD. SHAzam! Jean Hart says, "We have one you can have." She gets on a borrowed cell phone and calls Jim Hart and tells him I'll be right over to pick it up.

Another SHAZAMMM! The unit is a new (used 3 times) VCR/DVD combination unit. Did I say, "NEW?" Yep, yep. I did. Spent a few hours trying to get hook up right but found that the problem is in the operation of the TV program... Have it more or less straightened out and will type up instructions for use today.. You will need them.. This is different than you are used to.

A couple of tests need to be done today and then we will be good to go... Keep you informed.

"Lucy" Discoverer Donald C. Johanson - TIME: "Here's a zinger: what makes us human?
What makes us human depends on what place on our evolutionary path we're talking about. If you go back six million years ago, what makes us human is that we were walking up right. That's all. If you go to 2.6 million years ago, it's the fact that we're designing and making stone tools. And at 2 million years ago what makes human is our large brains that are at least two and half times the size of a chimp's. At twenty thousand years ago, what makes us human is the ability to make beautiful cave art. It's all relational. And if you look at us today, I wonder if we are human."

Poker????

In a recent conversation a friend asked why there isn't a poker night for players here at LVH?

There used to be one. But it faded out a few years back so what we are doing is running a poll on the right side of this site to see if there is any interest.... Check it out.

We're Back!!

It has been interesting for the last few days.... But everything is back to normal... So far. Sorry that there was no blog for the last few days but Blogger took us down. They thought we were a Spam Blog. They have completed our investigation and returned control to us.

First time I called up the site it had posted an article that would close our site and then take you to some sales site... I have fixed that but now am wary if there are shenanigans going on and that will keep me busy checking things out for a few days....

It's good to be back writing again... Ginger Dale has sent me the Newsletter and I will have it posted on line tomorrow sometime....
