How to Predict What You'll Like? Ask a Stranger - TIME: "To figure out whether you'll like the restaurant around the corner or that new guy in accounting or a vacation in Madrid, or just about anything else you've never personally experienced, try asking a stranger who has. That person is more likely to predict — more accurately than you — your future reaction, according to a new study published in the March 20 issue of Science."

Video: Underwater volcano sends huge columns of ash into Pacific sky - Times Online: "Scientists are on their way to the site of a large undersea volcano that has been erupting for days near Tonga, sending columns of smoke and ash thousands of feet into the sky above the Pacific Ocean."

The White House - Blog Post - Recovery In Action: AR, CA, FL, HI, KY, LA, MI, NC, OR, WA, PA, VA: "Millions of dollars in federal stimulus funds are now available in Oregon and Washington for public lands projects. The money is expected to create hundreds of jobs. The U.S. Forest Service will start awarding $10 million in contracts this week for hazardous fuel reduction projects in Oregon. That work will go to private companies already under contract with the Forest Service and is expected to employ about a hundred workers."

Oregon Coast Spring Break Comes with Unusual Creatures and Waves: "As the big spring break weeks begin on the Oregon coast this weekend, there's much ado about something along the beaches - and some of it is quite odd. On Sunday, March 15th, some of the Newport Police Volunteers helped out at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new airline service at the Newport Airport. Sea Air brought two planes in and there was a crowd to welcome them on their first flight.
