Newport News-Times: Final plan chosen for new Spencer Creek Bridge:
By Joel Gallob Of the News-Times
The current 'temporary bridge,' pictured here, that replaced the deteriorating original U.S. Highway 101 bridge over Spencer Creek has survived longer than its original life expectancy. The Oregon Department of Transportation worked through a series of analyses, public meetings and open houses, and a required Environmental Impact Statement for the placement, design and construction of a new, permanent bridge. This week, a final plan was released, settling the question of what route the new bridge and its approaches will take. (Photo by Steve Card)

We Are moving along

We Are moving along with our Spring cleaning....

The Sports stories have all migrated to the new Sports page.

Now we will be trying to move the News that doesn’t impact us locally to our Today’s News page. Sometimes a story will be of importance locally even though it is national in source. We will still put those stories on our HOME site. The transition may be bumpy at first because we are handling a large number of pages. The larger the operation becomes one wonders where our future helpers are?

I am putting many hours in now on 18 sites. Some not related to LVH. I can assure you Charles is putting the hours in too Both of us are willing and qualified to help you learn this stuff. We have had a request to build a page for Recipes.. Would like to do it but I need a person to keep it running just as Charles does for the Fishermen, Sports Senior Funnies the News and the home page. Just as Donna does for the home page.

By the way Donna if you are reading would you like to publish on any of the new pages?

Jim McCrea I can set you up so you can write straight from Microsoft Word.. doing nothing but punching a publish button... A college degree in English is a terrible thing to waste.  (

March 30, 2006

Jim Dodds is moving out of the park with his father to Montana. He is responsible for all the hi-tech work that went into the computer lab and for getting my feet wet in learning things that have to do with a domain.

Beleive me we were more than lucky to have his help. One nice thing is we can still communicate via the net with him. RT

To my friends, clients, and the residents of Longview Hills,

I would like to say “Thank You” for the opportunity to have worked with you. What a wonder it has been to watch you advance your skills and knowledge of this new computer age. As I get ready to take off to the Big Sky country you will never be far away with these new skills you have developed. Thru the use of your computer we will remain in touch. You now have a new computer lab that is really state of the art. Take advantage of it and explore, it’s just the tip of the iceberg. The software that is installed on these machines will allow you do anything your imagination can envision and remember, they are “just” machines as an automobile is “just” a machine, you just drive with a mouse instead of a wheel. The world of Longview Hills is just in it’s infancy with the creation of longviewhills.com, but this is one “giant” step that has already been taken. With truly your “own” website, restrictions that other companies place on you has been lifted and the world is truly unlimited on what can now be done. Online games, your own chat room, notices, share movies and pictures, instant messaging, raise funds….and thru the use of subdomains, you could have your own world going, yourname.longviewhills.com. The software is installed on every machine in your computer lab as tools to use to release your imagination. Create a cookbook or online manual. Or show off to the grandkids with www.yourname.com. Best of all – it really is simple!

Need service work done? I recommend Pacific MicroTech ask for Bill.

Thank you, once again, to all,

Jim

Time for the Pincohle Players to gather at the Longview Hills Club House from 7p.m. to 9p.m. tonight to enjoy the game. Anyone who would just like to watch, come on over. Enjoy!!!

There is no coal in Oregon, the state's Department of Energy assures me. There is no local industry devoted to converting coal into synthetic fuel. Why, then, would Sen. She was scared, so scared that she put her mother on the phone. They were driving through Georgia, on the way to a tournament, and they had no idea what to do or where to go. They could only think to call Kyumin Shim, the lone person they knew who spoke both Korean and English.

Why Do Giant Tortoises Live So Long?

By Daniel Engber

A 255-year-old giant tortoise named Adwaitya died at the Calcutta Zoo on Wednesday. The animal had been brought to India from the Seychelles Islands in the mid-18th century as a gift to the British colonial ruler Robert Clive. Why do giant tortoises live for such a long time?
