USATODAY.com - Manufactured homes and owners gain respect: "Manufactured homes — and owners — gain respect
By Sue Kirchhoff, USA TODAY
BARRINGTON, N.H. — After 15 long years, Richard Doherty makes the final mortgage payment on his cheerfully cluttered manufactured home — don't call it a trailer — this month. But ownership may not bring longed-for security.
Today's manufactured housing doesn't always look pre-fab.
Manufactured Housing Institute

Doherty and 73 other families who rent lots in the Barrington Estates manufactured home community, with its tidy gardens and wooded avenues, received notice this spring that the owner plans to sell. That has bred distress among tenants, who fear they could be forced to move if a buyer redevelops the property. (Photos: Modern manufactured homes)"

An intensive diet and lifestyle program can slow – or possibly stop – the growth of early prostate cancer.

A new study shows that diet may play a significant role in stopping, or even reversing, early prostate cancer. Exercising more frequently, even in moderation, may also go a long way in retarding the disease.

The study findings apply only to men with early prostate cancer. This means that under a microscope the cancer cells do not appear aggressive. It also means that the prostate cancer had not spread outside the prostate.

No man should ever rely on lifestyle changes alone to treat prostate cancer without first talking to their doctor."

A Housewarming for Ron Anderson, Commuity Handiman..
August 18th at 1:00pm
@ the clubhouse (thanks, Ruthanne)

RT

Ron is moving from his home here in the park with his mom Cleda Hampton, to a new home in Newport. Cleda will be by herself now and we suggest you bring a beverage to toast Ron's new home and a snack to share. Should you wish to bring a gift for the house warming Cleda says he already has all the big stuff in storage. But small simple things like 4 paks of toilet paper, laundry soap and paper towels, etc. would help.

The Northwest night sky will be sparkling tonight and Friday as the annual Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak.

This year's show should be a good one, helped by clear skies and a dark sky when the moon sets after 11 p.m. Viewers might be able to see more than 60 meteors per hour between midnight and dawn away from city lights."

Wine Festival coming this Saturday...

rt

Don't miss the free wine tasting with potluck snacks and desserts at the clubhouse on Saturday at 4pm. Ben Davi has scoured the vineyards for our annual blind tasting. You need to bring snacks or desserts to share. But...

Most of all you need to sign up at the clubhouse now. Not many names on the list at present and we need an accurate head count so there is enough grape juice for everyone.

Calendar Code Fixed...

rt

If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser you now see our calendar at the top of the page when you first come on. Over the past week or so we have not been able to make it work in Internet Explorer while it showed up fine on our FireFox web browser.

Hours of playing with ideas and code resulted in Nada (nothing). Several days ago I asked for help solving the problem at an on line forum for bloggers and tonight I got a good answer and tried it out... Wallah! A calendar on Internet Explorer and FireFox.

The problem was in a snippet of code written just before the calendar code I put on this website's template.... This is hard to beleive but a simple explanation point (
!) was choking Internet Explorer. Once removed ... The calendar showed up just fine.

The calendar showing the current week's events was Jacky's idea. She thinks it serves an excellent reminder so we don't forget what's happening...

FLU SHOTS ARE COMIN..

via Larry Henson, Park Manager...

October 17th at the Clubhouse.... Details to follow. We also will have it listed on the calendar shortly
Our Calendar tips...

rt

For those that receive the calendar at the top of this website.. Here is an exercise to play with. For those that don't you can get to the calendar by clicking on the link on the left.

Down at the bottom of the calendar is a control area marked by the word DISPLAY:
It is followed by control links that change the way your computer looks at the calendar. I want you to play with these. Nothing can happen.. You won't hurt a thing.

After the word "DISPLAY" , it says YEAR (Clicking this changes the calendar presentation to show the entire year) Next it says the word MONTH (Clicking this changes the display a month view) the next two items change the display to a WEEK view and then to DAY view.

Next you see control words that change the traditional view (BLOCK) to a LIST and so forth...

Experiment with all that you would like. It only changes on your computer...not everyone elses and then just reclick "WEEK BLOCK SLIDE " to return to the way it was when you started.. Have fun.
