News legend Peter Jennings – a closet smoker – joins a lengthy list of celebrity smokers who have died from tobacco-related illnesses.
Desi Arnaz, 69, and Walt Disney, 65, died of lung cancer. Lung and throat cancer also claimed the life of Sammy Davis Jr. at age 64.
And the list goes on. 60 Minutes newscaster Harry Reasoner, actor Steve McQueen and actresses Audrey Meadows and Betty Grable were all smokers who died of lung cancer. "
