Oh, the stars turn orange to indicate what the people before you thought of the article. That could influence whether you decide to read it or not.
I turned the stars all orange on this post but if you vote for a lesser number then the system will average everything and put up the average answer.
Oh yes, your vote doesn't show up until you close the page and return to it. (a small quirk)
