Lt. Col. Gregory 'Pappy' Boyington, one of the most famous American pilots of World War II, will not be honored with a memorial at his alma mater, the University of Washington.
The student senate rejected the memorial. Senator Jill Edwards said she 'didn't believe a member of the Marine Corps was an example of the sort of person UW wanted to produce.' No, you wouldn't want to produce any more people who go around defending their country."
