Take a look at A new place on the website.. There is new a link to Shirley’s on de Bay’s Menu and website. We heard about it last night at our Valentine dinner.
In the past we have put a lot of local websites on for information. Real Estate for instance. We have those on because we believe the website has had at least some impact on real estate sales in the community.
Over the years this has resulted in a pretty good directory of local businesses and services as well as tourist information. Our website has a sustained average of 175 page loads a day now and that is growing.
The businesses and services get good exposure here and we also are listed on every major search engine for Newport, OR. Which likely results in a lot of tourists looking at our site and its information.
We are suggesting that it would be an interesting proposition to find out if the local business community would pay rent on our website space to have links to their sites. Let me say right up front that I am not volunteering to go around and do that. We have enough activity we are involved in at LVH now.
However, if volunteers were found to do this task then this might become an additional source of income for the treasury. One that is easily maintained. As far as the Shirley’s Menu goes consider how this might be used....
Recently, Ruthanne Carson attended a Friday luncheon. She was late. So what she did was interesting.. She called the restaurant and placed her order. When she arrived the other folks were just getting their orders at the same time. Good thinking that. Now here is a new idea for all to try. Call ahead and name your order from the menu... Give your arrival time and just walk in the door to your meal served up instantly..
Some how this idea may work its way on to a poll soon.
