Computer mini-series class...
We have decided to hold a second class at 3:00pm. So there will be room for 7 more folks... I’ll put up a sign up sheet tomorrow.
By the way.. you folks that attended Donna Davi’s class yesterday.... You were great.. She is so jazzed that she is setting up a new more advanced class ... Keep watching the Bulletin board and the website for time and dates.
Meanwhile, we need you. You are reading this now and learned computers to do your job. Do you have a particular program that you are skilled at? How about teaching a how to class on it? We know you are probably not a teacher but we are a friendly community and would enjoy what you could show us. Maybe you do research finding ancient relatives and could show a group how to do that. Maybe you are converting old pictures to cd’s and could give us insight on how to do that. Maybe you have mastered a program such as Picasa and could show others how to enjoy their own photography. Maybe you could show folks how to set up RSS news readers. I want to show folks how to build a weblog and make posters. Maybe show how to write html code. Go shopping at ebay and sell stuff on ebay.
You see there is a whole group of people here that grew up and worked their lives when there were no computers. So they are on the outside looking in. They would like to join in the reindeer games but don’t know how. Their youngsters may have tried to help them learn but youngsters don’t understand why grandma and grandpa have slowed down and they lack patience don’t they? It takes patience .. the kind we have all developed reaching this stage of life. Come on now volunteer.. if you feel funny about teaching then maybe you will consider donating an hour of your choosing to the lab to help people on a one on one basis... Let me know..
