The Portland Trail Blazers will need public help if the NBA franchise is to succeed financially, president Steve Patterson said Thursday.
Although Patterson refused to specify what the team envisions, he and other Trail Blazers executives met earlier this month with Gov. Ted Kulongoski and other elected officials to explore the idea of a public-private partnership. He is scheduled to meet Friday with Portland Mayor Tom Potter."
