Newport News-Times: Local Red Cross hosts Family Safety Day:

The Oregon Pacific Chapter will host its first-ever Family Safety Day from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at Newport High School at 322 NE Eads St.

This free event will include a first aid class, safety training for children, disaster preparedness training and more. Usually, there is a fee associated with first aid and super safety training. However, the local Red Cross is offering this training and other services as part of Safety Day to showcase the many services provided by the Oregon Pacific Chapter. Upon completion of the course, all participants will receive a Red Cross certification card. The free first aid class is limited to the first 100 to enroll at 265-7182 or www.oregonpacific.redcross.org. Enrollment prior to Saturday is required.
