Newport News-Times: Free admission to Yaquina Head on Thursday:
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area will be offering free admission on Thursday. The park will be open as usual from dawn to dusk, and the interpretive center will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tidepool Docent training will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Recent wildlife sightings have included bald eagles and gray whales. The common murres and cormorants are spending more and more time on the coastal rocks preparing to nest and rear their young.
