A Helping Hand

A Helping Hand ...
We have our families to help this Christmas

RT

Marlene has our local families to help. Last year we had a system that went well and so we will use it again this year. For those reading about this for the first time, here is the deal...

Each year we go to the local welfare agency and ask for a family in need with children that we can help make a brighter Christmas for. Marlene Crites is our spearhead for that. Jacky Thomas also went to the National Guard locally and asked the same of them.

We now have our families and children selected. We will be making a Christmas tree with BOY OR GIRL... age so and so listed on paper ornaments. The ornaments will also have what they would like to have and their clothes sizes on it. There will be lots of ornaments and lots of opportunity for residents to share. You grab an ornament and go shopping.. purchase a NEW gift from the ornament description... Then you wrap the present and put the ornament tag back on it (so we know who gets what). Bring it to the clubhouse and put it in the box that will be there.

We don’t share the names because we don’t want the children to be embarrassed and you get to experience the joy of anonymous giving to those in need. It’s a good thing.
