THE NATL WEATHER SVC IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH.WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON.
A STRONG PACIFIC STORM IS EXPECTED TO BRING STRONG WINDS TO THE
SOUTH WA.NORTH & CNTL OR COAST ON MONDAY. THE
STORM IS EXPECTED TO BRING SUSTAINED WINDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 70 MPH OCCURRING ALONG THE BEACHES & HEADLANDS.WHILE COASTAL
COMMUNITIES MAY SEE GUSTS TO AROUND 55 MPH.
AT THIS TIME THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR DURING THE
MORNING HRS ON MONDAY. HOWEVER DUE TO VARIATIONS IN COMPUTER MODEL
FORECASTS.THE STRENGTH.ONSET & END OF STRONG WINDS MAY
CHANGE.
A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A
HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH.OR
GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE
LATEST FORECASTS FOR POSSIBLE ISSUANCE OF A HIGH WIND WARNING.
