The old Shilo Inn by the casino in Lincoln City

ron thomas

A group of us visited the Old Shilo inn restaurant in Lincoln City today. For shear ambiance it presents a view of the ocean with waves breaking on rocks. Very great view maybe the best of any restaurant in our local. The prices are 25% off the menu price for all the residents of Lincoln County Monday through Thursday. Go early and get even more off the special of the day before 4:00pm.

The place is definitely upscale with a full bar... Those that ordered cocktails were pleased with their libations and the service was in my opinion 5 star.

The meal has bread that is simply unbeatable... Freshly baked and yummy with generous portions of butter. Colorful Salads with olives and mushrooms.

The menu is not lengthy and looks kind of expensive until you factor in the generous discount for Lincoln County residents. We had the Prime rib and it was very good at $9.95. Halibut Fish chips rated at 3.5 stars (out of 5) by She Who Must Be Obeyed (Jacky Thomas).

We gave it a good review and added it to the U-Rate it page.. Remember you can email us with your ratings of any business in our town or outlying areas. Good ratings get a star. Bad ratings remove a star. No star? The business is removed from the site. If you participate we should begin to get an idea who is good for us to do business with as a community.

We like the concept because we are not telling anybody that a business is bad we are only logging the ones that people are pleased with. They also have to maintain their level of service to stay on the site.
