Outdoors - StatesmanJournal.com: "Oregon Coast: The first fall migrant western sandpipers were reported at the north spit of Coos Bay and and at New River, a 10-mile-long river on the southern Oregon coast about eight miles south of Bandon and 12 miles north of Cape Blanco. A scrub jay was was west of Charleston. A breeding-plumaged cattle egret was at Florence. A goshawk was seen along the Trask River southeast of Tillamook. A bird believed to be a black-tailed gull was reported by birders at Ona Beach State Park, eight miles south of Newport."
