ON STAR
We will be developing a new communications technique for our CERT team. Here is how we think it will work....
Some folks in the park probably have On-Star service installed in their cars. Here is what CERT wants to do... We would like to know if you have ON Star in your car. If we had a dire emergency with all the phones (cell as well as conventional) out of order we can use ON STAR because it works by satellite. Now what we would do is collect phone numbers of people stranded here and call their relatives and tell them how we are doing so we don't get our loved ones all panicked.
