CH 6.16
The new park Neighborhood Watch/CERT channel is so quiet. No chatter at night.. I've monitored all 24 hours for the last two days. Never lost a peck of sleep. That is the eventual goal... to have it monitored 24/7. What a program you folks will have when that happens. This allows volunteers not to be aggravated by jibber jabber from folks passing by. The volunteer knows when the talking starts it's 99% sure it is someone in the park. Beleive me it will be a lot easier to find people willing to do the monitoring now. Maybe we could have a couple of new monitors a week and share the responsibility around. Whada ya think?
We haven't forgot you folks stuck on CH 6 ... Remember you can hear everything that is said on the new channel on just plain old ch 6. You just can't talk to CH 6.16. That means you will have to call a block captain if you want to ask a question. BUT... if we get a real emergency we will monitor and speak to both channels. CERT has extra radios just for that eventuality.
