OK Let's do it.... the LVH Neighborhood Watch Radio Network is now CH 6 Privacy Code 16. This is written Ch6.16

Those of you that have the older radios with only CH 6 don't worry here is what we have worked out for you until you can update your radios.

If you only have CH 6 you will hear everything just as you have been BUT you will not be able to talk to anybody on the Neighborhood Watch Network. In an Emergency CERT will monitor CH6 and Ch6.16 and you will be able to talk then on CH6.

Why are we doing this? If you listen a lot you will notice we receive a lot of talk from people passing by LVH especially now in the summer. It goes on and on from children talking to grandma to people backing up RV's and the, "where are you now" calls and the occasional profanity idiot.

This will have a dampening effect on all of that. Under most conditions LVH residents will be the only ones listening and talking on the new channel. It will be a lot less aggravating to those who try to maintain a long term watch on the channel. It is not that easy to find volunteers to keep watch on the radio and for us to be successful we need those volunteers listening. So we do this for them and to cut down on confusion from outsiders. We've done this slowly so that you can acclimate on how to use your radio.

If you have problems making the switch any CERT member can help. Also, There will be an, "I need HELP list", on the bulletin board at the clubhouse. You can call me and I will come if possible or get someone else to come.
