HOME @ MIDNIGHT
What happened to the 11 1/2 hour trip? We were on the road at 7:30AM. What happened.. Life dealt us a joker. Just outside of Medford our van lost all electrical power.
Call to AAA they came out and towed us to Sears but wait! How can we all ride there. Especially Lori on wheels? (Wheel Chair). Well a couple of good samaritans stopped by when they saw us stranded with Lori's wheel chair hanging out the back of the van. One of them took Jacky and Lori to Sears. The cats stayed in the van with the windows down and in their carriers. After the tow I got everybody including the kitties inside Sears Automotive waiting room where it was nice and cool with air conditioning. There we all waited 4 hours for the car to be repaired. Though we are all heavy persons we came out of Sears $400 lighter and were on our way.
Not exactly a great day but a lot of great people and service men helped us and we were very lucky to find such nice people. I am sure glad it happened in Oregon.
Good to be home and as we pulled in I noticed the Breakfields are back from Alaska. Bet they felt the pull of their new home just as we do. I love Newport, Oregon.
