Newport News-Times: Crash in downtown Newport knocks out power Friday

Newport News-Times: Crash in downtown Newport knocks out power Friday: "Witnesses at the scene identified the operator of a maroon colored Dodge Durango as the person who caused the accident. Officers were told that this driver had been headed south at speeds estimated between 65 and 70 miles per hour, passing other vehicles on the right. The Durango suddenly veered off the road just south of NW 16th Street, struck utility poles, fire hydrants, signs and other objects, and then flipped onto its top. The vehicle reportedly spun in circles while crossing the width of the highway, striking another car and then hitting the opposite curb and flipping back onto its wheels before coming to a stop in front of the Gold Chevrolet dealership."
