Seaside Signal - Your hometown newspaper since 1905. - News�>�Local News: "In order to prepare for the next big tsunami, Seaside City Councilors on Monday unanimously approved the purchase of 120 cache barrels that will be used to store food on higher ground in case of emergency.

The 55-gallon barrels would be placed in people’s homes in the city’s five tsunami evacuation zones in the city, said Planning Director Kevin Cupples."
