Business - StatesmanJournal.com: "SALEM — The owner of Bridie's Irish Faire, which sells items imported from Ireland, is closing the Salem store and moving the business to Newport, according to the owner.

The Salem store at 183 High St. NE is expected to close on April 12.

In May, the jewelry, gifts, and apparel store will re-open at a location on the bay front in Newport.

Some of the items available at Bridie's Irish Faire include hand-woven scarves, table runners and place mats, hand-thrown pottery, hand-painted china, lino-cut printed linen, hand-knitted hats, handbags, handmade goats' milk soap, hand-blown crystal and sterling silver jewelry.

Bridie's Irish Faire opened its Salem location about two years ago. Owner Susan Spencer decided to open the store after making four trips to Ireland and meeting her father's extended family.
