Here is the deal. The CERT team needs $2000 to get one of these puppies at LVH. Thursday the team is submitting a grant application to the Confederated tribes of Siletz. Then we wait. If it comes in we will buy it from either Samaritan Hospital here in Newport or in Lincoln City. The unit is a Zoll and has batteries with a 5 year shelf life. The primary use will be for the CERT Team in a disaster. The secondary use will be for use at the clubhouse in case of heart problems at a club event. It most likely will be locked up in a glass enclosed case to keep curiosity seekers out. The glass will have to be broken or a CERT member will be able to unlock the box. The AED will be insured against theft.... That's the plan. The reality is we may have to find another way to get our unit...
