Newport News-Times: Spit and polish:Cynthia Gray, Bosun's Mate 2, left, and Stacy Wallace, BM3, apply some of the final touches to the cleaning of the Coast Guard motor lifeboat Victory. Along with polishing the brass and metalwork and cleaning and drying out the lines, the ship has also been repainted in time for this weekend's Loyalty Day and Seafair Festival activities. At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Coast Guard Station Yaquina Bay will host a 50th birthday party for the Victory, which is the oldest motor lifeboat in the history of the Coast Guard.
