Battered Sea Lions Find New Home at Oregon Coast Aquarium: "(Newport, Oregon) - Two young female California sea lions arrived by truck at their new home at the Oregon Coast Aquarium Wednesday night, accompanied by Aquarium husbandry staff."

As it ran through its routine, it was clear to me, even then, that this wasn't the right way to keep a wild animal. That much was clear from the way the whale's huge six foot dorsal fin had flopped over—a detumescent symbol of its emasculated state."

NEWPORT, Ore. -- Sea lion watchers in Newport have long been concerned about a particular sea lion with a wire wrapped around it's neck.
The Port of Newport along with the Marine Mammal Stranding Network say they have finally found a solution.
The Port of Newport set out a cage Thursday morning. Jim Rice of the Oregon Marine Mammal Stranding Network says their biggest problem in dealing with a wild animal is getting it to sit still."
