News: Local | "HIDDEN VALUE?" | The Register-Guard | Eugene, Oregon: "So it went Saturday at the Springfield Museum’s “Trash or Treasure” event, as local keepers of old books, pictures, toys and more got advice on whether their prized possessions are richer in economic or, um, sentimental value.
Modeled on the PBS series “Antiques Roadshow,” in which appraisers travel the United States to evaluate antiques, the museum collected at City Hall a number of amateur experts and invited the public to drop by for an evaluation of their antiquated items. The first event by the museum in 2008 netted almost $1,000 in donations and drew more than 200 people."
