Yesterday 30 of our folks heard from Kay Wyatt, a local geophysicist /electrical engineer, about the facts surrounding tsunami's and earthquakes in

Oregon ... in particular, Newport. Our hope is that those 30 will be a catalyst that raises our awareness within our community.

You missed a good one if you were not there. Kay is a hands on person that used audience participation and simple analogies to explain very complex science. There was not a person present that did not walk away with greatly enhanced knowledge.

To those of you who did attend... mention Kay to your teacher friends and relatives... She loves to show children what she presented to us.

The child in me ate 3 oreo cookies... You would have to have been there to appreciate what that means.
