The World Link: Tsunami warning sirens will be tested Sunday: "Sirens will blare throughout the Bay Area on Sunday as part of a test of the local tsunami and Pony Creek Dam warning system.
According to a Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board press release, at about 2 p.m., sirens will be activated at the North Bend High School, Empire Fire Hall and the Water Board’s service center.
Two tests will be performed. The first will consist of a one-minute steady siren blast, representing a tsunami warning. The subsequent sirens, featuring 15 seconds blasts followed by 10 seconds of silence, signify a dam failure warning."
