KTVZ.com Central Oregons News, Weather and Sports Leader - Oregon town prepares to put an officer on a Segway: "ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) - The city of Ashland is ready to become 1 of the few cities in the nation to patrol its downtown with a battery operated two-wheeled personal vehicle called a Segway.

Ashland Police Chief Terry Holderness plans to ask the City Council in August to authorize spending $6,000 to purchase one Segway, geared up specifically for police use with lights and a siren."
