Today at Sunnyvale

TODAY IN SUNNYVALE....

RT

Well we were off to a late start today... Getting more and more pooped. I woke up with a kitch in my back and went on motrin therapy with a T.E.N.S. unit shocking the sore spot. After breakfast it's off to Home Depot for parts... This time it's AAA batteries for an X-10 outdoor movement sensor.

Wired up some switches and modules to automate Lori's house. When you drive into the carport now a sensor turns on the front and back porch lights and turns them off seven minutes later. Put the office lamp on a module and the living room table lamp on a module.. Managed to shock myself once...hate that when it happens.

Tommorow will install a sensor in the kitchen that comes on when you enter and goes off 4 minutes after you leave. Put in some automated mood lighting on top of the kitchen cupboards and install X-10 dimmer switches on the two overhead fan lights. If there is time maybe an automated switch in the bathroom that comes on when you enter and off when you leave.

When we get home I will buy a computer module and program it to run these switches even more automatically and then send it to her... She will just plug it into the wall and it will start running her home.

Beleive it or not this stuff is already in place in most of your homes! If you have the red emergency light installed you have the basic controls already in place and all you have to do is add plug-in modules to do these things.
