On the morning of September 11, 2001, there were more than 4000 planes flying over the United States - and four of them were hostile. America had the most powerful military in the world, yet an enemy attack was so unimaginable the air defense of the entire U.S. mainland was left upto 14 fighter planes. This is a minute by minute story of how America's air defenses responded to the terrible events of that fateful day.
