A high surf warning was also in effect Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday. A strong offshore storm will create swells 25 to 30 feet Sunday evening, continuing through Monday afternoon.
The Coast Guard has closed the Columbia River and Tillamook Bay bars and the Siuslaw River mouth at Florence because of hazardous storm conditions.
'A high surf warning means that dangerously high surf will batter beaches in the advisory area producing deadly rip currents and minor beach erosion,' officials said. 'This is not a time to be near the water.'"
