Callers seek information in jury-duty scam | StatesmanJournal.com | Statesman Journal: "Multiple people contacted Marion County Courthouse on Friday asking whether they had missed jury duty, sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Sheila Lorance said. They said the male caller told them he works with the courts and told people that they missed jury duty Feb. 3. He asked for personal information, such as a birth date, a Social Security number and work information, Lorance said.
Court officials will not ask for confidential information from potential jurors over the phone and tend to communicate by mail, Lorance said."
